Theatrical Rights Worldwide has added a new jukebox musical inspired by the story of Joan of Arc, Wild Heart, to its licensing catalogue.
Featuring a book by Chelsea Marcantel, the musical puts the story of the historical icon to a soundtrack of modern pop songs made famous by Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Andra Day, Weezer, Melissa Etheridge, and more.
“Responding to overwhelming demand from our school theatre community for large cast shows with multiple lead roles for girls and strong featured ensemble parts, we are thrilled to introduce Wild Heart—the perfect new musical designed with your students in mind,” TRW CEO Steve Spiegel said in a statement. “Wild Heart joins the growing roster of new work in development with TRW Production, which include The Olympians, Joyful Noise, Music & Lyrics, and more to come.”
Marcantel’s plays include Airness, Everything is Wonderful, Tiny Houses, Ladyish, Devour, and Citizen Detective.
